It's been one week...

Job: It's ok. They really like me, and seem excited that I'm there. Last Saturday was a really busy night, and in the middle of running around, my boss stopped and said to everyone, "Doesn't it feel like Tre's been here for months already?" to which the servers and bussers replied, "Yes!"
However, they've gone without someone in this position for 2 months now. Well, there have been a couple people who tried it out, but they quit after a couple days. Anyway, it's been a little difficult so far to feel needed. I'm no good at standing around at work, but that's what it feels like I'm doing most of the time. They've become pretty self-sufficient... But they want me around, so that's nice.

Church: It's good to be back! It was hard to get to church in Lincoln City, as I was either out of town on Sundays or working until 2 in the morning on Saturday night. Plus, it was hard to get motivated to become a part of a church, because I was only going to be there for a short time. I know, excuses, excuses... Anyway, it's good to be back at Coram Deo Fellowship! Also, Kelly's started attending with me. That's the coolest part. She's also a part of my home fellowship, which is now meeting on Wednesday nights. That's cool, too. There's lots of rather new Christians in the group, which is exciting. Also, we share dinner, which is also exciting! Each week, one person/couple provides the main dish, and the rest of us plan around it. Last night I made risotto with chicken & mushrooms. I think they're a little intimidated by my cooking skills, which is a bummer.

Kelly: She's awesome. The hardest thing right now is our schedules. I work Thursday through Sunday night, usually until 2 am. She works normal weekday hours at Multnomah. Also, on Monday nights she's attending a class taught by Byron Kehler through Imago Dei, on Tuesdays she has dinner with the wonderful girls in her house, and Wednesdays is our small group, followed by a Lost party at my house. All that = no date time, which is a real bummer. This week is Preview at Multnomah, so even when we are together, she's really tired. I feel like something's gotta give, which is hard, because I've only been at this life for a week now...

Anyway, for those of you adept at inter-lineal graphic recognition (a.k.a. reading between the lines), I'm free to hang out Monday & Tuesday nights, if anybody's up for it. Just give me a call!
